When the clock hits midnight on New Year’s Eve, people all around the world will be putting their New Year’s resolutions to work. However, if you’re a hunter who can’t seem to find the right resolution for the upcoming year, here are a few suggestions.
Get In Shape
Living a healthier life and getting in shape is one of the most popular resolutions year in and year out. If this past year you’ve found yourself struggling to keep up with the hunt, make it a point to get in better shape in the new year. Being in hunting shape is different than being a professional marathon runner or swimmer. It means that you don’t have to hit the gym every day – but it definitely wouldn’t hurt! No matter what, putting an extra focus on exercise in 2017 could go a long way toward making your next hunt more successful.
Hunt Something New
Many use the new year to broaden their horizons and try new things. As a hunter, you might want to think about something new next year, too. This could be hunting an exotic animal, like those at Tioga Boar Hunting, or even branching out and developing your hunting prowess with a bow or shotgun instead of rifle. Who knows, you may learn something about yourself and could help yourself become a better hunter in the process.
Become a Better Shot
Speaking of becoming a better hunter, why not take the time to work on your shot some more in the upcoming year? As the saying goes, nobody’s perfect, which means you can always get better. Get out the targets and set up a practice routine to keep your shooting sharp and on target. This is also a great way to identify any weaknesses in your shooting or identify problems with your gun’s sights that may be preventing you from hitting your target.
Share the Hunt
Take the turning of the calendar as an opportunity to spend more time with your family. If you have a little one or spouse who is interested in hunting or who wants to see what a hunt is like, use 2017 as the time to introduce them to the sport. Taking a new hunter on a guided hunt with us is a great way to show them the ropes as well as get in some quality family time with them. Plus, since hunting licenses aren’t required here at the ranch, you won’t have to worry about getting into trouble as you show them the ropes.
At Tioga Boar Hunting, we offer numerous different guided hunts for big game, including hunts for whitetail deer, elk, boar and rams. Our hunts are perfect for hunters of any age or skill level, too. For more information or to book a hunt with us, call us today at 570-835-5341!
