Do You Need a Hunting Guide?

If you consider yourself an introverted loner who can’t stand other people then you do not want a hunting guide. However, most people actually welcome the idea of having the help of a hunting guide for several reasons. How might you know if a guided hunt is the kind of thing you’d like to do at a place like Tioga Ranch?

A Guide Provides Invaluable Experience

For starters, are you new to hunting? If so, having a guide to hunt with is a great idea because that guide is more experienced than you are– he or she will know more about hunting, more about the area and more about where to find the animals you hope to find. Furthermore, your guide helps organize (and lead) the trip/adventure for you, so you don’t have to “do it all alone.” He or she is your hunting companion, your helper and your cheerleader. It’s nice knowing you have someone to share your hits (and misses) with!

A Guide Helps With Unfamiliar Animals and Terrains

Sometimes hunters will go on guided hunts simply because they’re hunting a different animal/species they aren’t used to, so having a guide ends up being a huge help. They get first hand advice from experienced guides who are pros at finding and shooting the particular animal(s) they’re on the hunt for.

Unfamiliar with certain hunting grounds? Rather than rely on maps or GPS technology, you’ve got a guide who knows a particular area well. You’re less likely to get lost in the woods if you’re with someone who knows exactly where they are at all times.

A Guide Helps Those Worried About Fitness and/or Safety

Got physical limitations and/or are you dealing with some sort of handicap? A guide can tailor the hunt to your specific capabilities.

Do you want a safe and somewhat relaxed hunting trip where you don’t have to stress out? A guide can be there for you, helping keep you out of harm’s way. And if something goes wrong, such as a twisted ankle, they’re there to provide first-aid.

A Guide Increases Your Chances for Success!

Finally, if you intend to increase the chance of success on a hunt, go with a guide because he or she will provide the needed expertise to better your chances at shooting and killing what you want– rather than you going it alone with mixed (or no) results.
